Background, Experience, Special Interests, and Modalities
Tara Krueger
LCSW / CCTP II
I believe the therapist–client relationship is the foundation of successful therapy. A positive, trusting connection is essential for growth and healing.
I am a trauma-informed, person-centered therapist who tailors interventions to each client’s goals, preferences, and needs. I am trained and qualified in several evidence-based approaches, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
I can integrate concepts from these approaches in flexible, less structured ways to best meet each client’s needs.
My background includes working with individuals experiencing trauma-related challenges (including PTSD) as well as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment problems, and relationship issues. Other areas of experience include working with Veterans and providing faith-based counseling. For clients who wish, I welcome the integration of Christian or spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process.
